This lamp was inspired by microscopic images of plant cell sections and created by quilling, a popular hobby among women in the 18th and 19th centuries. Quilling, or paper filigree, is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped and glued together to create decorative designs. The entire lamp is constructed from recycled paper, cardboard, and a single acrylic sheet. The light source is LED. In order to create this light fixture I had to cut, roll and glue over 800 strips of paper.
